Pier Giuseppe Monateri is one of Italy’s leading legal scholars and a Full Professor of Comparative Law at the University of Turin. Internationally recognized for his contributions to comparative law, legal theory, law and economics, and the study of institutions, his work explores the deep connections between legal systems, culture, power, and social transformation. Throughout his academic career, he has developed an interdisciplinary approach that bridges jurisprudence, philosophy, economics, and the humanities.
Within Slow Finance, he contributes a critical and long-term perspective on governance, institutions, and the legal foundations of economic systems, helping to frame finance not merely as a technical discipline, but as a cultural and civilizational phenomenon.
