Slow Finance UNiCO International Campus
Through its partnership with the New Academy of Arts, Sciences and Professions, UIC awards honorary academic certificates to entrepreneurs who exemplify best practices in social impact and have successfully translated the Slow Finance Values ​​into the world of work.

Through O LI, the Adriano Olivetti Leadership Institute, at UIC, the Adaptive Leadership community of practice focuses its attention on issues related to the intersection of Law, Economics, and Finance, aiming to address and resolve the most significant problems due to the world's "systemic inefficiencies," starting from the issues experienced by Italian civil society. This necessarily highlights the need to identify good Slow Finance practices.

With the OFF Club, we strengthen the muscles of optimism and faith in the future for those who have temporarily lost their way. Eating healthy (organic, zero-mile Slow Food Presidia), exercising, and reading together are all it takes to restore optimism. By working together to solve adaptive challenges, we cultivate faith in the future.

Slow Finance, through its year-round activities at the UIC, contributes to the organization and promotion of the EATING CITY SUMMER CAMPUS, the European platform that has been studying the impact of the food supply chain in large cities for over 11 years. Since 2026, the ECSC has been embracing Slow Finance values, broadening its audience to better understand and take action to disseminate, throughout Europe and globally, the best practices of a "Good, Clean, and Fair" supply chain for community canteens (schools, hospitals, barracks), lobbying for public procurement, and the agency of its ambassadors.

Since meeting Pope Francis in 2024, during the first Slow Finance Summer Campus, with his blessing and contribution through the Centesimus Annus Pro Pontificie Foundation, the UIC has hosted the Laudato Sì Francesco Fantolino Community, which seeks to set a good example in the exchange of Integral Human Development practices, in the tradition of the Piedmontese Social Saints of the Social Doctrine of the Church.

Slow Finance looks with deep appreciation to the experience of the Monastery of Bose and to the vision of Integral Ecology articulated in Laudato Si'. Inspired by these traditions, and by the spirit of the Francesco Fantolino Laudato Community, we envision UNiCO – International Campus as a place where personal growth, ecological awareness, cultural dialogue, and economic responsibility can evolve together. Our aspiration is to create an environment where people from different faiths, philosophies, and cultures can feel welcomed and at home, united not by uniformity of belief but by a shared commitment to human flourishing and the common good. Drawing inspiration from Taoist contemplative practices, Christian spirituality, and other wisdom traditions, UNiCO seeks to cultivate a culture of attentive presence, mutual respect, and inner development. In the spirit of Integral Ecology, we believe that the care of the environment, the quality of human relationships, the health of institutions, and the governance of economic systems are inseparable. Slow Finance therefore promotes a vision in which finance is not merely a technical instrument, but a practice of stewardship, responsibility, and long-term care for people, communities, and the living world.

The Slow Finance UNiCO International Campus (UIC) was established in 2025 in the aftermath of the meeting with Pope Francis, within the framework of the “Slow Finance Summer Campus” held in Annunziata di Costigliole d’Asti, at the Poderi Prunotto Fantolino estate, on the initiative of Matteo Basei Fantolino M.Sc. and organized by the International University College of Turin (IUC), formerly linked to the the Collegio Carlo Alberto (CCA).

The initiative emerged as a space for the critical study of law, economics and finance, inspired by the principles of Integral Ecology and the cultural values that Carlin Petrini gives to the Slow Food movement, with the aim of exploring new human-centered and sustainable paradigms for education, enterprise and society.
