Valter Cantino was an economist and academic, former Rector of the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo and Director of the Department of Management and the SAA – School of Business Administration at the University of Turin. Throughout his career, he held leading roles in economic and financial governance, including signing the UniTo financial statements and, among other roles, as auditor of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group.

His career is distinguished by a rare ability to bridge seemingly dichotomous worlds, building profound and generative relationships between business, academia, and culture. He successfully combined diverse visions and sensibilities, engaging with both Sergio Marchionne and Carlo Petrini, and helping to build conceptual bridges between organizations such as Exor N.V. and Slow Food.

Slow Finance is dedicated to Valter Cantino: a vision that reflects his ability to integrate economic rigor and human depth, generating lasting connections between capital, knowledge, and community, and guiding development toward sustainable and shared trajectories over time.
